China’s Yarlung Zangbo River Downstream Hydropower Project – an unprecedented mega-project with strategic importance beyond energy generation. It will deploy five cascade power stations (60 GW total capacity – 2.7× the Three Gorges), fundamentally transforming China’s energy map.


The supporting UHV transmission grid will add >50 GW of export capacity, driving both Tibet’s grid modernization and cross-regional power line development.
